What is Mahjong?
Mahjong is a classic tile-based game of skill, strategy, and luck. Played with four players, it combines elements of rummy and card games. At Mahjong Social House, we teach American and modern variations in a relaxed, social setting.
Can I come in or join by myself?
Absolutely! Many of our members start as solo visitors. We host open game nights and beginner-friendly classes where you can meet other players. Check our schedule for upcoming events.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
No. We provide all equipment: mahjong sets, tiles, racks, and score cards. Just bring yourself and a willingness to learn. Beginners are welcome – we'll guide you through the rules step by step.
How many lessons do I need before I can play on my own?
Most people feel comfortable playing after 2–3 beginner classes. We recommend our Mahjong Foundations course, which covers rules, tile patterns, and scoring. After that, you can join our guided play sessions to practice.
Do you have memberships?
yes, we will be offering memberships this Fall after our Summer launch
